IVC Filter Litigation
Inferior Vena Cava filters (IVC filters) are
spider-like, medical devices designed to
catch blood clots before they move to the
lungs. Each year, approximately 200,000
blood clot filters (IVC filters) are implanted
by surgeons to prevent pulmonary embolisms.
BUT, certain brands of IVC filters are not as
harmless as originally thought and could result
in causing severe medical complications.
Patients whose filters fracture inside the body are
at a risk of severe injuries, including:
Chronic excruciating pain
Perforation of vital tissue, vessels or organs
Studies show 1 out of 4 IVC filters fail and fracture, potentially causing death.
